Taganga means -> Ta = coming & Ganga = the sea (Ganga is also some slang word to say 'great deal')             

Taganga is a small typical & cute fishing village near Santa Marta (only 10min) between green mountains with cactus vegetation, truillo & arbustos trees. When you are traveling to Taganga & you are on the highest point coming from Santa Marta stop & take in the breathtaking view over the horseshoe-shaped bay. Its very laid back atmosphere, beautiful beaches, local food, great parties & it´s the perfect location to go diving, snorkeling, biking & fishing. It will give you the real holiday vibe that you are looking for!

Cra 1C # 18-22, 3rd floor, above the Tayrona Dive Center @ entrance of Taganga. Open Tue-Sun= 1pm-11:30pm.

*Playa Grande = 10min, 6pp. Beach just around the corner, on foot = 20min.

*Harpoon fishing/snorkeling = 60pp (food, equipm incl).

*Bahía Concha = 30min, 45-60pp (snorkeling, equipm. incl). Nice beach, white sand & restaurant.

*Playa Cristal = 45min, 80pp. Beautiful beach & cristal clear water. Restaurant service.

->Boats leave @ 10:30am & come back 4-5pm. Max 15 pers/boat, min 7 pers/boat. They need 7 pers before they´ll cast off. When the boat is picking you up in the afternoon from a beach, don’t pay the 100% in advance otherwise maybe they will not return! That is unless you fancy playing at Robinson Crusoe!?

*Activities like the Ciudad Perdida trek (office Magic Tours: Cll 14 # 1B-50), diving (dive shops all over) & bike tours (Elemento Outdoor Adventure, Cll 18 # 3-31) can be done from Taganga.

HOW2GETTHERE
Santa Marta = 10min, taxi 8/tr; collectivo = 1.2pp. Tayrona-Santa Marta = 1hr, bus 5pp. Santa Marta-Cartagena = 4hrs, ±32-43pp. Direct transport to Tayrona = 17pp.

TIPS 
-Only 1 ATM is here, which doesn’t function all the time or not every card works here. Get some cash in Santa Marta to be on the safe side.
